about

sun .

Soleilu is an extension of me. I started making jewelry when I was 18, exploring other crafts, and I fell in love with it. I loved the feeling of learning something unknown and discovering it while also discovering myself. Those were years of deep introspection and learning.
My name is Lucía, and I like to mentally transform everything I see into a piece of jewelry. What would an asparagus necklace look like? In my head, it's already made. For now, I work with 925 silver and borosilicate glass in a city in Valencia.
Each jewel is handmade by me, working the material with love and respect.
I connect strongly with every piece of jewelry I make. For me, it's a sacred moment that honors my inner world and keeps me present in every moment of creation. I wish I could better describe what happens in those moments.
The attachment I have to finishing a piece is clear. Every time I give a piece of jewelry, I work on letting go, trusting, and thinking that whoever wears it will be carrying something very special.

Besides making jewelry, I have another great passion: farming. My dream is to have an organic garden, where I can plant the vegetables we love and, above all, share what I've harvested with my loved ones. Right now, I have a small balcony, but it's full of life: lettuce, arugula, piparra peppers, radishes, leeks, Padrón peppers, beets, pak choi, Mediterranean herbs... there I practice to one day be a farmer. I'm also crazy about fermentation. I make milk kefir, water kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, garlic in honey... I love combining vegetables and fermenting them in their own juices. I make butter with cream fermented with kefir. It's amazing. I'm fascinated and moved to look at my jars and know that there's a universe within them, a universe that changes every second, millions of tiny lives inside a little jar. Fermentation is one of those things that reminds you to be patient in this life. Everything takes its time.

Soleilu is all of this, even though it only shows the jewelry. I couldn't make my jewelry if I didn't have these stimuli constantly providing me with inspiration. Soleilu refers to the sun, because it's what links all of my passions. The sun is the nexus between them. The sun is present in every creative process , and the sun feeds my plants, making them grow until they become my food. Sometimes they first undergo a long fermentation, which will cultivate a new ecosystem of microscopic creatures. These creatures will transform the food, changing its composition and making it extremely beneficial for those who consume it. This immense population will continue its course within us, providing us with a diversity of microorganisms that will accompany us for a long time in our important bacterial flora.

For me, this is poetry, and it makes me smile and be grateful for this wonderful life. In the workshop, in my kitchen, and on my balcony, wonderful things happen that mean a lot to me. I accumulate a lot of love, and it fills me with life.
Obviously, after reading all this, you'll think we're a very environmentally conscious brand. And that's true. In fact, we don't separate ourselves from the environment; we're part of it. We like to take care of ourselves and stay healthy, so we do everything possible to protect the environment and do what we can to benefit the ecosystem we inhabit. That's why we always choose local suppliers, local businesses, and clean processes.

And after all this talk, I say goodbye with a big hug, and I thank you so much for your support.
all the best,
Lucia
